We're looking for a housemate to fill out a 3-bedroom apartment at 66th and Herzog, in the Golden Gate neighborhood of Oakland/Emeryville. Available now!

Living Space
The room is approximately 9’x12’ and has laminate wood flooring and a large window. There’s no built-in closet but there is a standing armoire in the room which works great as a closet and ample shared storage space throughout the apartment (including a separate storage unit). It also has a lovely bamboo forest outside and gets beautiful indirect lighting during the day. The walls are forest green, which you’re welcome to repaint if you prefer something different.

In addition to rent the utilities (internet and PGE) are generally $50ish summer, $80ish winter. Move-in costs are a one-time fee for a background check, first month’s rent and security deposit (equal to 1 month’s rent).

About Us:
Andrew (they/them) I’m a 41 year old queer, sex-positive cannabis lawyer. I’ve been in therapy for years and done a lot of work deconstructing my own gender, sexuality and privilege. In my free time I like to hang out with friends, go camping and hiking, do yoga, garden and make art.

Matt: I’m 40 years old, gay, single, and currently work as a Personal Trainer (always down to share workout tips or be workout buds!). I’m also working on my Data Analysis certification as I’m looking to shift into entry-level work in that field. When I’m not working, I love being outdoors, hiking, and camping or going for a motorcycle ride. I also deeply value open and direct communication – it’s super important to me to keep things transparent and harmonious in any living situation.

Location
The apartment is very centrally located. It’s a mile away from Ashby Bart and Berkeley Bowl West. We have good access to public transit! 5 minute walk to bus stops for the 49, J, 72, 72M, 802 lines. 10 minute walk to bus stops for the the 88 and 688. 5 minute drive to the Ashby exit of I-80, 10 minutes to 580, 980, & 24. It’s a pretty and quiet neighborhood with lots of flowers and birds, and a couple walkable parks! The building is in a cul-de-sac with gated yard. The apartment is located on the second floor, up a flight of stairs (not ADA-accessible).

Shared Living Space
There’s a large shared bathroom with ample storage available, the kitchen is well stocked with a full-size fridge, electric stove/oven, dishwasher, garbage disposal, pantry closet and a full complement of kitchen utensils, as well as a comfortable living room (that gets beautiful direct sun during the day). There’s an app/coin-op laundry in the building (landlord put in new machines a year ago). There's also a small storage unit specifically for the apartment.

Outdoor space
Large yard! Neighbors and some past housemates have done gardening in raised beds, and you’re welcome to, as well!. There’s a large big fig tree, a fire pit and patio furniture which is great for entertaining.
