About Me

Hi,
by November 25th (probably) I'm starting a new job in New York. It would be my first experience living abroad and I am looking forward to finding someone to live with me as my roommate.
I am pretty calm person and can be shy in the beginning, but have quite strong character, which shows upon closer acquaintance, when I open up a little. As an introvert (INTJ) I prefer spending time alone in my room, so I won’t invade your personal space and won’t be pushy. But to be clear – I am looking for friendship, if possible and meeting new people, but I would need some time to open up.

In living space, I emphasize cleanliness and like living in spotless spaces (in accordance with filth), but in contrast I am a little bit messy and don’t mind clutter. The thing I would consider very important: no shoes in the house (that is a no no in my culture)!
Most of the time I would be at work in the MET Museum, sometimes also over the weekends and it is very important for me to have a space, where I can relax in the evening without much noise and other stimulus.

A VERY important thing: I have a dog! He is a mutt I rescued from the shelter (small bred up to 10kg – 22 lb.), and he is coming to US with me. So, I am looking forward to living with a person who likes dogs and don’t mind living with one and possibly can walk him from time to time, when I would have a tight schedule at work (I won’t impose on this, it is up to you).

About my hobbies (for which, sadly, I probably won’t have time): I really like art and thing related to it (history, handicrafts, and stuff). For a long time, I was an embroidery artist. I am also very interested in other cultures (recently it is mostly Korean) so I read some stuff about it, try to learn languages, etc. So, well, New York is perfect for it, a lot of culture blend in society, which I didn’t really have here in Poland. My native language is obviously Polish, but I’ve been learning English for more than 12 years and I can communicate quite good (I would need some time to adjust from Polish to English in everyday life). I did travel a lot when I was still a university student – mostly Italy, Portugal, Spain, France and Poland neighboring countries, but yes Italy is my top of them all (its historic sites, art and food are just amazing).

I've never been to New York, or another continent as it is, so everthing will be new to me and I wouldn't mind some guidance from someone more familiar with the city and new york culture.
