Hello! We are two a college graduates (UChicago ’18) living in Regents Park, right next to the lake on Hyde Park Blvd (51st St) and on the border between Hyde Park and Kenwood. One of my roommates is leaving us in the fall for a new job, so we’re looking for a new roommate starting in early October (date somewhat flexible) for a year-long lease.
There is an application fee but no security deposit, and the rent is $640 including all utilities, which is an incredible deal because the building has an indoor pool/hot tub, business center, gym, recreation rooms (games, TVs, foosball), dry cleaners, a restaurant, a huge garden, and more! Here’s a link to the website: https://regentsparkchicago.com/
The room is so affordable because we have turned the living and dining room into a separate bedroom (it’s originally a 2 bedroom apartment). So, if you feel like you need a living room or dining room separate from your bedroom, this is probably not the place for you (although there are plenty of other of rooms in the building to escape to!). The kitchen is also rather small, so we would love someone clean to live with us to make things easier for everyone.
My roommate who is staying is a pre-law paralegal. We both plan to apply to law/graduate programs this year and leave in May/June, finding people to take over the lease for the remainder of the lease term. If you may want to choose your own roommates for next year, this would be an excellent arrangement!
Transportation: The building has its own UChicago shuttle called Regents Express to and from the campus during the school year. There is also a city bus stop right outside. The 172 goes straight to and from both campus and the main shopping area on 53rd street. The same stop is on the 6 and 28 bus routes, which go all the way to the north end of the loop, so you can get downtown super easily.
Ideally, we are looking for a female young professional, grad student, or post-doctoral fellow! Please note that I do have a cat. We’re on the 25th floor facing north (can see the city skyline of downtown and the lake through almost-floor-to-ceiling windows)!
Move in Date | Oct 2019 |
Lease Duration | 1 Year |
Age | 23 |
Occupation | Biophysics And Neurobiology Researcher |
Hometown | Durango, Co, Usa |
Education | University Of Chicago |
Relationship Status | Single |
We think Elle’s room is fantastic! But in case you want to see more…
