Hi! I'm looking to move up to NYC for work after having spent a few years in my alma mater's city. I've been told I'm an excellent roommate, keeping the apartment clean, etc. I'm a fan of good movies, wine, museums, and am down with exploring the city! I majored in English at a small liberal-arts school, so an interesting read is also very much down my alley. I can also play bartender and can make some really good classic cocktails, and I am a pretty good cook as well (if you're into that!). If you would like to keep more socially separate that's cool, if you wanted to have movie/game nights or grab a drink that's cool with me too! I have a small dog named Theo (little American Eskimo pup), and he loves people-- so ideally you would be into dogs too. He's pretty good at tricks, which people usually find adorable. I'd usually be out of the apartment during regular office hours (ideally would have a dog walker Mon. - Fri.), and I'm hoping for a good neighborhood to wander around in. I think Hamilton Heights/Harlem is very cool, but I'd be open to other areas/boroughs as well (if the commute isn't super long to Manhattan). Let me know if it seems like a match!
Move in Date | Nov 2020 |
Lease Duration | 1 Year |
Age | 23 |
Occupation | Marketing/Design |
Hometown | Dallas, Texas |
Education | Rhodes College |
We think Mary’s room is fantastic! But in case you want to see more…

Posting for a friend:
We have a third bedroom available in a classic six apartment between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue available. It is a prewar, walk up building with a lot of space but no elevator— a full, separate kitchen, marble bathroom, dining room, and a living room (hard to find at this price in Manhattan!). There are some families and young professional roommate combos in the building. It IS a six floor walk up, but you truly do get used to this— it gets great sunlight and views due to this also.
The best part of Central Park, the formal gardens, are just 300 feet away from the front steps of the building and it is also near the City Museum of New York, Mount Sinai, and tons of bars and restaurants. A quick walk to the 6 line and the red line to the West side is at the top of the park also.
You would be signing onto a lease with two roommates, a wine professional (30’s, he/him) and a visual merchandiser (mid 20’s, she/her). They both keep mostly to themselves and value a comfortable, clean space to relax in but sometimes will share a glass of wine together and watch tv. Must be POC and LGBTQ+ friendly. They are both being mindful due to Covid and taking precautions to be safe. (A masked meeting to see the apartment or a virtual meeting is how they would prefer to connect).
The bedroom available is on the smaller side, but has a lovely view of the street and has great natural light. There is a closet in the room as well as a large, shared wardrobe in the dining room. The bedroom will have a fresh coat of paint for you. The previous roommate lived here for 5+ years and has left due to moving to another borough. The apartment is decorated for Halloween currently in the photos, but the roommates are open to decorating, should you be so inclined.
The unit is rent stabilized and you would be signing onto a new year long lease starting November 30th with the others. They have a cosigner, so financials may need to be provided to the management, but should not affect being on the lease (due to the cosigner). The rent can only be raised by 2% annually, which is again, great for Manhattan.
