The Place:

I'm finishing up my undergrad degree in Boston and moving down to DC in September to join a 2-year rotational leadership program at a tech company in McLean, VA.

I'm looking for a place close-ish to the silver line in the Courthouse/Clarendon/Arlington area. I have a flexible preference for warmth and architectural character over a more sterile feel, e.g. a townhouse & wood over a high rise building & chrome.

Key things for me are closeness to a sizable & safe park (I run often), plenty of natural light in the apartment, and if possible hardwood floors (because...why not?). Places facing west with a sunset, or places with a fire-escape or balcony, are the best-case scenario in my book.

Fun Tech:

Since I work for a smart home tech company, one of my benefits is free smart home security monitoring, thermostat/energy management, and the ability to buy tech on discount. I love technology and using new gadgets, so I'm looking for roommates who aren't opposed to integrating technology into the space (e.g. having an Alexa-enabled device in the home).

About Me:

I'm a free spirit who gets stuff done, seeks inspiration, and never stops growing. I'm generally happiest when trying something new, making/deepening connections, and spreading good vibes. I come with a great sense of humor, a game attitude, and a proclivity for fun.

I would describe myself as a career-driven wanderer, inspired by generosity, helping out, and leaning into love. I studied political theory, focusing on theories of justice and democracy, at Wellesley College with a year abroad at the University of Oxford. I'm from Tennessee and make a lot of jokes about it, among other things, and I do stand-up gigs on the side. I'm pretty bohemian: a backpacker, queer woman, and all-around imbiber. I'm clean, thoughtful, spontaneous, and usually pretty talkative.

I've had many international and unconventional roommates, and one of my greatest joys is learning about new cultures and perspectives. While not able to leave the country until I was 20, since I have embraced becoming a traveler, going to 18 countries and 4 continents in a year and a half, and counting! In other words, HMU if you're also an open-minded soul.
