I'm a 34 year old female freelance writer. I work at home. I don't need silence, but I like quiet during the morning for work/writing reasons. I'm home a lot in the winter, but I normally travel a good amount for work. I'm usually gone at least twice a month for 2+ nights minimally. (During three months last year I was home for less than 2 weeks each month.) My 7 lb, 8 year old dog usually comes with me or stays with friends who like to watch her. She's kind of like the community support dog (been around thru many break ups of friends and my own). During the warmer months, I work mornings, go out for a bit in the afternoon/evening most days. I live on Twitter, workout regularly, don't watch a ton of TV/movies, and am considerably more social (outside of the house) on week days than weekends. J
Jackie (f) (26) worked in the music industry until a few months ago and still is extremely into the arts and music. (She regularly curates and puts on her own gallery shows). She just got a new full time administrative office job to put some money away that she's currently working remotely but will eventually go back to an office from 8 - 5pm. We're both pretty physically active, love to support women and watch Law & Order SVU and the Sopranos. This isn't really a reality tv house. Idk, the secondhand embarrassment kills me. We've lived in the apartment for 18 months and love it. With the departure of our current roommate, we're refreshing the place and really make it comfortable and a home/escape/someplace we don't mind being quarantined in.

The open room is big! There is currently a queen sized bed, vanity with 4 x 4 ft mirror, big stand up dresser, a tiny side table/plant table, and a chair. The bedroom is on the back of the house too so it's away from the street and quieter, and since it's South-facing, it gets sun almost all the day through the double window. T
he room does not com furnished, but the photos are with my stuff in it right now. I'll be moving into the master bedroom with a bathroom (and pay more), but you'd share a bathroom with just one roommate. The tub is really deep and pretty big. There's always got fresh eucalyptus in there, which is nice.
We have wifi. We don't have cable, but we do have a roku with hulu, netflix and HBO on a tv in the living room. (We replaced the couch in the photos with a new couch.)
It's a 4th floor walk up, but we're on the top floor and only two other apartments have access to the big rooftop. The entire apartment is 1000 sq ft. (The ground floor has a private backyard.) There's central air and a camera buzzer system, stainless steel appliances and we have laundry in the building (one washer and dryer in the basement for $2.50 each)!
We're clean .. we would like you to be as well. We don't have like a chore chart or some weird roommate matrix thing, we both just keep up with buying paper towels, toilet paper and coffee and keep the place up.
We're looking for a 29+ female roommate that has a full time job, won't bring the party home and has lived in New York for 4+ years.
We're cool with overnight guests. We don't usually give heads up about intimate overnight guests but always if friends are visiting and crash for a few nights. My roommate and I are friends, eat dinner and watch shows together occasionally but have kinda separate friends.
We're open to someone who wants to watch a few episodes of Black Mirror together or someone that totally wants to do their own thing all the time. Whatever works. There is (was? before COVID-19, we'll see) cute spots like Cafe Erzulie (bar at night/cafe during the day), Bunton's World Famous (amazing pina coladas) and Sally's (sister restaurant to sally roots in Bushwick) that are bomb with super chill/fun crowds all in walking distance (like under 10 min walking distance).
We have a bunch of plants, I have a small, quiet 8 year old chihuahua/hot dog mix that spends the majority of her time in my room. She's only in the main room if I am (and even sometimes then, she takes some alone time in my room lol).
Bills range from around $40 in the summer to $80ish in the coldest winter months. We're 3 blocks (.24 miles) from the j/m/z Myrtle stop which makes getting into the city EXTREMELY easy. We cut thru a Food Bazaar grocery story to get home and a Mr. Kiwi across the street, so it's very close to grocery stores.
