Hi! My name is Ethan, my roommate Charlie and I are looking for a new roomie for our three person apartment in the East Village. The apartment is $866/month + utilities (around 925/month) and is a sublet. We are looking for someone who (ideally) can move in between now and September 15th, and is willing to stay until next July 31st (with the option to be added to the lease!)
I am 22 years old and have lived in New York for a year studying community justice at John Jay College. My goal is to become a social worker. I’m out most of the time at school, my internship, and enjoying the city but also enjoy relaxing at home. I am a very chill, laid back, and friendly guy and would describe myself as an introverted hippie. I like self improvement, nature, learning, film, and music. I used to study film and have a collection of vinyl records. I’m a very type B kind of person. My favorite thing to do is to go out and see live music, especially jazz! I am clean and pick up after myself, especially in shared spaces. I have had a lot of experience with roommates and am mature and a good communicator, and believe that mature, respectful people are the key ingredients for a good roommate relationship :) Feel free to contact me here or on IG, @ethankovnick. Excited to meet you!

Apartment Information
Our incredibly priced apartment is on Avenue D in Alphabet City/East Village. In a city where rent is ridiculously high and only getting worse, we both feel super lucky to only be paying 866 + utilities per month for such a good accommodation. You can expect to pay about 925 after utilities on average.
Please note this is a sublet with the option to be added to the lease next August 1st! We are looking for someone who can move in around September 1-15, and ideally looking for someone willing to stay until next July 31st (with the option to take over the lease!)
Tompkins Square Park and East River Park are both just a 5 minute walk away and are wonderful places to hang out, exercise, and connect with the neighborhood. The L train is about a 15 minute walk away, and the F is about a 20 minute walk. The M14-D bus stop is just a minute’s walk from the building, runs frequently, and quickly brings you to the L train and Union Square. In addition we are also located by the M8 and M9 buses. We live directly above a grocery store, and bodegas are also on both corners. Crown Fried Chicken is also just downstairs. We live on the fourth floor of a five story building, and the building has an elevator. The roof is accessible and has a great view. We do not have in-unit/building laundry, but there are several laundromats that are only ~5 minutes walk away. The main room has central AC, but we recommend getting a box fan or your own AC for your room for the July/August heat. The walls are thin so sound insulation is not the best, but this is the standard for NYC, and we haven’t had any issues in this regard. Amazing places to eat and drink are on every block in this awesome neighborhood.
Room Information
Measurements of room: 7’2” x 9’8” (10ft ceiling)
The room gets a lot of sunlight through a large, east facing window. The window itself has a large ledge, perfect for housing plants or to use as a window seat. The room is small, but the ceilings are high (10ft), so if you prioritize floor space then a loft bed would work well here. There is no closet, so storage furniture is recommended. Some other features are a painted white brick wall and an overhead light that fills the room nicely. The room is also furnished with a bed and AC!

Hi! Our names are Ethan and Charlie and we are two friends living in the East Village/Alphabet City. We are looking for a new roommate since our current one is moving out. We tend to do our own things but we also chat and hang out together from time to time. We are looking for a queer or queer-friendly roommate as we are both part of the LGBTQ+ community. Above all, we want someone who is kind, mature, and a great communicator. 20-somethings are preferred but not a requirement.

Charlie:
Hi! I’m Charlie (he/him) and I’m a 24 year old music therapist who works with children with disabilities as well as teens in an inpatient rehab facility. I spend a lot of my time keeping myself busy with work, grad school, the NYC Gay Men’s Chorus, among other hobbies. I’m an introvert although I do love to hang out and goof around. I also have a cat who is 6 years old named Hunny Bun (she/her). Even though I am a musician I am mindful of hours when I practice, but usually I practice at work. I like to bake and cook and am always very very happy to share my food with roommates. My instagram is @charlickle if you wanna send me a message! Cheers and hope to meet you soon!
