My Timeline:
I have put in notice (available week of August 23-29th & otherwise considering a temporary stay around Portland (or from Southern Oregon where I have family) until I find a house with a roommate. I’m just not going to spend $1000+ on rent for my own place when I have so many financial goals.
My Story:
37, (she/her, they/them) dance artist turned engineer in the energy industry, looking for my next 9-5, crossing my fingers for part time WFH and/or fully remote with option to go into a co-working space, fully vaccinated. Currently not on the phone a lot on the job/not loud at work.
Currently living in Oregon City where I could get more space and serve my budget.
Anticipating a job change and want to condense my commute and have a healthier living space. It’s important to me to be able to adopt a dog or foster. But, this doesn’t eliminate rentals that ‘don’t allow pets’ as I currently don’t have a pet.
How I spend time: I’m always making an effort to further my career, side-hustles, and I’m pretty studious at a desk (which could be in shared space or a bedroom depending on space), paddle boarding, excited to get back to learning west coast swing, bike rides and socializing mostly on weekends, working on my health and wellness practices, learning about Buddhism, investing, and enjoy true crime docs and pods. May be dating again in the next year.
Celebrate LGBTQ+ and need a roommate who’s open and accepting of all people.
My New Home Logistics:
Open to any corner PDX’s surrounding.
Ideal - proximity to max line
Interested in areas mostly outside of NW pdx.
$1,750 is my ceiling for rent, preferably less.
No apartment complexes unless town home style with storage included in rent price. Prefer town home, small house, etc. 2 bed 1 bath (or 1.5 bath + would be awesome but not necessary) with garage or possibly 3 bed instead of 2 bed.
I don’t have a pet; open to living with dogs, non-yappy dogs primarily (love dogs!); and good with cats as long as the owner is doing some vacuuming weekly.
Rules that have historically worked well for me:
24 hour dish rule
Some sort of weekly/monthly cleaning plan - whatever we co-create.
dates/partners over-night no more than 3x/week otherwise they should be contributing,and I just don’t want a 2rd roommate.
Talking about anything before a mole hill becomes a mountain; director communicators please.
Less is more, I’m most comfortable with little clutter, little as far as accessorizing and decorating (plants and some wall art is how I do it).
I’d love to build a new friendship, but do not expect or require that. I think it would be great to have a few common interests.
Would prefer keeping TV out of shared location especially on weekdays.
420 friendly, other things are ok periodically, whatever it is - serious moderation.
Timeline: *waiting for the right fit.
Preferred: giving notice by end of June; moving July 25th
2nd option: rent month to month for a couple months until our timelines sync up.
3rd option: wait 6 months; move at end of January.
Get in touch! PM me and please mention why you’re moving and when is most ideal for your move, and let’s talk on the phone. I don’t have the capacity for messaging a bunch. I know this post isn’t very personable at the moment - but my bandwidth is low. I’ve also found that transparency about practical matters is how I’ve formulated the happiest roommate relationships in the past.
My maximum monthly budget | 800 |
Move in Date | Aug 2021 |
Age | 37 |
Occupation | Renewable Energy Engineer |
Pets | Pet Friendly |
Hometown | Klamath Falls, Or, Usa |
Education | Bs |
Relationship Status | Single |
We think Ruthee would be a great roommate! But in case you want to see more…
