Hi! My name is Alex (she/her, white, 28yo) and I am looking for a new place to call home in Brooklyn. I most recently lived in Chicago (for 6 years), grew up in MA and have spent time living in the Philippines, St. Louis, and Miami. I am aiming to move to Brooklyn in winter of 2022 (February-ish) to be closer to my community in NYC, but I have a flexible move-in timeline due to the flexibility of WFH/anywhere. :)
I am an incredibly considerate and intentional roommate, with a side of casualness. I appreciate a clean/neat common space, but also recognize that we all have busy moments in life, so I am not a stickler. Space (especially now in the WFH days) is important to me, so I enjoy making a home out of wherever I live. I like my home to be a space for community and comfort. This looks like plants, colorful decorations, and comfy places to sit. My ideal home is open to visitors on a regular basis, but not necessarily THE party house.
I really enjoy living with roommates and love to share meals, have people over (for dinner, small parties, nothing too crazy) and appreciate roommates who have a similar vision for a shared space. This looks like being social at times (cooking together, coffee on the stoop, movie night, etc.), but understanding home is also a refuge for our alone time. Additionally, I'd like my roommates to have aligned values - a home that is welcoming to BIPOC and queer folks is a must for me. I am vaccinated, boosted, and relatively conscious (with the intent to make sure I am not contributing to getting vulnerable folks getting sick) and I expect my roommates to be vaccinated and abide by the CDC guidelines (including masking indoors).
I have worked at the same national workforce development nonprofit for the last six years and will be continuing in the same job in NY. I expect that I may have some days in the office starting in 2022, but I will largely work from home so space for a desk is a must! Outside of work I like to cook/bake, read, explore the city and different restaurants, workout and go on walks/bike rides. I am excited to get to know Brooklyn better once covid dies down again!
My maximum monthly budget | 1,300 |
Move in Date | Feb 2022 |
Lease Duration | 1 Year |
Age | 29 |
Pets | No Pets |
Hometown | Topsfield, Massachusetts |
Relationship Status | Single |
We think Alex would be a great roommate! But in case you want to see more…
