Available Room for Rent
$1100 bedroom in cozy 2bd/1ba Capitol Hill/H street avail. Nov 1
Room available November 1 in light-filled and cozy two bed, one bath apartment. Located at 9th and Maryland Ave NE. The apartment is a corner unit on the top floor of a three-floor walkup.
Rent and Utilities: Rent is $1,100/month, and there is a 1-month security deposit of $1,100. The lease is month-to-month, but I plan on staying for the foreseeable future and hope my future roommate would plan to also. Utilities average around $115/month, including electricity, gas, and high-speed Wifi from an independent company (we get half off because this building is a hub!). Water and trash are included, there is radiator heat and window unit AC’s. The living room and bedrooms also have ceiling fans.
Pets: I have 1 cat that lives with me (please don’t inquire if you’re allergic). The incoming roommate can have 1 pet – I haven’t tried my cat with dogs before but she gets along with other cats so I’d imagine she could get used to a smaller dog also.
More about the apartment: Approx. 900 sq ft, two bed one bath with hardwood floors, 10’ ceilings and full of windows. Bedroom for rent is 11’x14’, has two big windows and one smaller one and a decent-sized closet; comfortably fits a queen-size bed, dresser, shelves, and chair. Bedrooms don’t share walls. There’s no dishwasher, but there is a gas stove and laundry is in the basement, and management is and I (the other roommate) am easy-going. The bathroom has a tub. There are two closets outside the bedrooms of moderate size for storage. Building has a secure front lobby with keyless entry; apartment has keyless entry as well. There is a small fitness room with two treadmills and some weights on the first floor. Bike parking out front under security camera surveillance.
Bus lines X8, D8, 90, 92, 96, and 97 are all within one block away. Union station is a 15-minute walk, Eastern Marker a 20-min walk (incl. Trader Joe’s). Whole Foods on H street is six blocks away, and Senate building and the Capitol are less than a 15-min walk away.
