I'm a Yale grad and former naval officer who's transitioned to a real estate finance career in New York City. I work in the credit ratings industry, and (in pre-pandemic times) I hop on the ferry right by my apartment each morning to head to Lower Manhattan.. My 9-year-old house-trained beagle Draper is used to my busy schedule and is a pretty chill dog.
I would love to room with another young professional who's dog-friendly or better yet, has a dog that needs a friend during the day. I'm pretty laid-back, non-smoker (looking for same), social drinker (mostly just weekends) looking for someone who is chill, clean, and considerate. I do my best to keep the kitchen and common areas clean but am not a neat freak. I have a monthlyy cleaning service that handles the heavy duty stuff so we should never have to use a chore wheel haha.
I would also prefer to have not just a roommate but also a friend as well and someone who is equally ambitious and excited about their career. I really believe it's important to surround yourself with people who can lift you up and inspire you in many different ways, both personally and professionally. Outside of sheltering in place, I like Game of Thrones, Mad Men fan, rugby, cooking, traveling, reading about politics, history, economics, and art, and I also play piano here and there.
I found my current roommate on here, and it has worked out amazing! Couldn't be happier. Sadly, he'll be moving in with his girlfriend in May, so it's time to find another roommate.
Does it sound like we'd get along? Let's be roommates.

The Master Bedroom is available!
Flexible on move-in date!
You would take the Master Bedroom (pictured) and have a full closet in your bedroom. I've lived here for one year and love it. This is a rent-stabilized apartment with all new fixtures on a 2-year lease. Due to the pandemic, video from the apartment can be provided as well. The space will be delivered unfurnished. The kitchen has lots of counter and pantry space with a wine cooler and a dishwasher. Laundry is in the building ( and I can honestly say there's never a wait!).
Access is important as well, so you'll be happy to know you'll be less than a 10-minute walk away from the LES ferry, the 1st Ave L train stop (perfect for getting to BK), and the M23 crosstown bus which cruises past every subway line in Manhattan is right outside our door. Due to current realities, you'll also be happy to know that the apartment is big enough for both of us to work from home without disturbing the other. My current roommate and I have been at it for about a month. These apartments were originally built for families of veterans and are quite spacious!
