From our last roommate:
Hi – Unfortunately, I am planning to move out of state and would otherwise stay in the apartment with my two awesome current female roommates. I am helping on their search for finding a third roommate (female in their late 20s’ or early 30s). They found me on Craigslist 3 years ago as a random and it’s really worked out well for all three of us. We bonded over $6 martinis and tater tots at the Blue Line when we first met.
The location is great and the apartment is located close to “6 Corners” at the Damen, Milwaukee and North Avenue intersection. We are walking distance (less than 100 steps) to public transit (Damen Blue Line Stop) and buses. There are many great restaurants and bars located conveniently close to the apartment – some favorites are: Big Star, Blue Line, Etta and Violet Hour. It is about a 12-15 minute walk to Division Street.
The lease is for June 1, 2022 – May 31, 2023. I am flexible on dates in case you need an earlier move in date in May or would like to start the lease as of 5/1/2022 or even 5/15/2022 – really flexible/open to dates. I am also flexible on leaving some furniture behind (book case, reading chair and 3 tier glass shelving with gold framing night stand). Feel free to request photos.
The rent for June 1, 2022- May 31, 2023 is for $1,060 per month and is prorated by bedroom size. The master bedroom has a balcony and all 3 of us use it in the summer months.
Utilities (electric, gas, WiFi) run about $60-$100 a month, slightly higher in the winter for heat. There is a non-refundable move in fee of $200 and an application fee of $60. Street is permit parking.
Apartment Description: We are on a third floor walk-up that houses 8 units in one building and another 8 units next door (secure gate and doors) along with a front yard on a one way street to Damen Avenue. Private bedroom is able to fit a queen size bed, nightstand, desk, floor length mirror and bookcase/dresser. There is a fairly decent clothes closet in the bedroom along with a designated hallway closet for your belongings. You will be sharing a bathroom with one of the roommates. She is very clean and wipes down the counters after use that cleaning the bathroom has never been an issue for the both of us. Common area is huge with an electric fireplace, has a lot of natural light along with an updated kitchen/bathroom. The new appliances were installed 3 years ago. Washer and dryer are in-unit!
About the roommates: (32/Female/Teacher) and (34/Female/ Insurance Coordinator) work normal 8-6 office hours, but sometimes work does come home with us. We do enjoy/respect the common areas and tend to clean up after using the kitchen or common areas. We are friends, but normally don’t go out with each other on weekends. Don’t get us wrong – we can watch some horrible reality show, ‘Love is Blind’ with white claws or bottle of wine occasionally during the week. We do not consider our apartment a party space and would appreciate if you were the same. We basically are boring grandmas during the week and go out occasionally on weekends or have a small group of friends over prior to going out.
About You: Late 20s – early 30s female who is clean, respectful and does not bring the drama or party home.
