I retired mid-2023. I've been doing some international travel. Audited some classes at Rice university last semester. Study Mandarin. I like movies, theater, comedy, museums, coffee shops, browsing the internet/social media, and trying new things. I have 3 degrees ... I guess I really like learning.
I have a small cocker mix dog who is almost 10 and is pretty mellow.
I make an effort to be relatively tidy in shared areas and I can be up late sometimes (12-2A) or fall asleep at 9. No patterns. But I'm usually awake by 7AM even if I dont do anything but read in bed.
I can be very chatty but also like the silence and relaxation at home. A bit of an introverted Extrovert. Oh.... I am pretty liberal, not at all religious and will NOT be voting Trump. Felt that is important to know.

Available Room for Rent
Private upstairs bed/bath includes ALL utils; close to Beltway 8, I-10, 59S, Westpark Tollroad, and Galleria:
This is a two-story, four bedroom two bath home built in 1960. Only me and my little dog live in it now. Rent includes wifi, roku, netflix/prime, elec/gas/water, and yard services.
The largest upstairs bedroom is for use by you and has recent new carpet, paint, and furniture. A smaller bedroom may be used periodically for your guests (mine too but a rarely have any stay over). The private bath is in the hallway between the bedrooms. Since my rooms are downstairs, the entire upstairs will basically be yours.
Bedroom has carpet and recently purchased furniture with queen bed. Chest drawers are all yours to use and you are welcome to decorate as you like if you dont like the art and accessories in the room.
Downstairs has shared den, updated kitchen, breakfast room, formal living and dining room. Patio opens to backyard. Kitchen has an induction cooktop (uses magnets to heat), a small built in double oven with advanced features, and appliances including a dishwasher, small microwave, coffee maker, and air fryer. The door to the garage leads off from the kitchen. New washer / dryer are in the garage.
Home is very close to several big chain grocery stores, gyms, and chain restaurants. Three nice shopping centers are nearby including Town and Country, Memorial city, and Galleria. All are about 15-20 minutes away by car. Downtown is about 20-30 minutes to downtown. We are not far from a great biking trail off the beltway.
The home is nicely centered between the Westpark tollroad, Beltway 8 tollroad, I-10W, and 59S. So it's easy to get most anywhere in town quickly. There is a bus that runs by on Richmond but you really need car in this area.
If you love to garden you will be HAPPY here because my yards are a blank slate! lol Sadly, the yards have been repeatedly damaged by ice storms, heatwaves, and windstorms. Most things have died. Repeatedly. Yup, it's not as pretty as it once was. But we will try again soon.
