About Me

Hi! I’m a professional stand-up comedian and writer from Germany and I’m looking for a room, preferably living together with creative, open, friendly people.

WHERE & WHEN: ASAP – I just moved to NYC, I'm staying with a friend for now. Preferably in the Williamsburg / Clinton Hill / Bed Stuy / Bushwick area, but Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, or Park Slope would also be okay. (Or the more affordable areas of Manhattan if I'm lucky – LES, Chinatown, etc.)

WHAT? A room. Furnished or unfurnished, I can make both work.

ME IN GENERAL: I’m clean, respectful and considerate, and I believe that communication is paramount when living together, so we can be sure that everybody loves living in the space together.

MY VIBE: I prefer a room share where people are friends or are at least friendly with each other – where we're glad to see each other and have a chat in the living room instead of averting eye contact and merely tolerating each other’s presence. 😊 At the same time, we all do live our own lives and need our space and alone time respected of course.

LGBTQ FRIENDLY: To clarify that tag on my profile, as it wasn't 100% defined – I'm a straight he/him myself but I'm very much an ally and happy to live with any friendly and chill person, no matter what their gender or orientation may be.

COOKING & CLEANING: I try to cook regularly and I wash my dishes or put them in the dish washer shortly after I’ve eaten the meal I’ve cooked. So I like shared spaces tidy, but I’m not obsessive – we’re all human and sometimes it happens that you can’t do the dishes right away. I'd struggle however if I had to live with somebody who doesn't care about the dishes piling up for days. As for cleaning the house: I’m open to taking turns or hiring a cleaner.

PARTY? IDEALLY ELSEWHERE: I’m sociable and up for fun activities, but I'm not a party animal anymore and I like to sleep well, so I prefer for the party to happen elsewhere. Admittedly my profession means I often get home late, but I’m used to being extra quiet and respectful when coming in.

WORKING FROM HOME: During the day I often work from home whenever I don’t go to a coffeeshop to work there or have meetings in the city.

MY JOB & TRAVEL: I make my income playing comedy festivals in the US and Canada and selling my cultural-educational stand-up show 5-Step Guide to Being German to German companies (a few billion dollar companies recently), German cultural organizations, and German-American Societies all over the US. So occasionally I’ll be gone for a day or two, or sometimes a week or two.

HOBBIES: reading, seeing shows, sports (both watching and playing), traveling, skiing, languages, sitting in cafés and talking to interesting people about stuff that matters. (Possibly gesticulating wildly, because I'm European. 😊)

Any questions, please let me know!
