Hi! My name is Emma. I am 24, originally from outside of Boston and graduated from Colgate in 2018. I worked at Morgan Stanley right out of school and chose to leave to take a role at Estee Lauder on a strategy team. I currently live in West Village and am moving at the end of October due to COVID work-from-home policy and looking for someone to fill my spot!
Sophia (my roommate whom I am helping given my quick departure) is nearly 21 and a senior at FIT. I can genuinely and truthfully say that Sophia is a friendly, neat, and relaxed roommate. She is easy to get along with, does her share of work when it comes to apartment upkeep, and is great about sharing the space together. During the week we have both been working from home and/or taking online classes and have been mutually respectful of one another when it comes to privacy, noise, and personal space. That being said, it has been nice to have a roommate who I can hangout with after a long day of work during all of this chaos. Not to mention she has a very sweet and chubby cat - but she keeps to herself in Sophia's room unless you want some company :)
Our apartment is in the heart of West/Greenwich Village. There are so many fun restaurants that have been wonderful to have close by. The West Side Highway is also only a quick walk away for pretty walks, runs, bike rides, etc. It is centrally located in terms of various subway lines (if you're up to the subway these days). Shopping, Washington Square Part, and Union Square Park are all also so close by. I would describe the are as young, fun, active, and hip. And the walk-up really isn't bad and helps us get our steps in and we are one of only two apartments on our floor.
I love my room. It is well lit with a large window that looks out into the green middle courtyard - so quiet at night which is great. It has high ceilings and finished wood floors. I currently and comfortably have in it a queen bed, large stand-up wardrobe, dresser, and a desk and chair.
The lease duration is up in the air. I am looking for someone to fill my spot by the beginning of November, but our current year-long lease is up at the end of March. Given the COVID circumstances, it would be a discussion down the road for you and Sophia to have about what both your thoughts are after March - she isn't positive either.
If you have any interest please reach out in an email to both me (emmabrandhorst14@gmail.com) and Sophia (sophiaphillyips@gmail.com) for a video and hopefully tour/catch-up in person! Look forward to you hopefully hearing from you!
