About Me

Authentic, Considerate Woman Seeks Room/Apt Search Buddy

Hi!
I'm a mature Black woman who is antiracist, queer-friendly, creative, down-to-earth, honest, and responsible. I have a great sense of humor, and I enjoy having ample time to revel in moments of solitude and read to my heart's content. Additionally, I do not indulge in toxic positivity or spiritual bypassing of any kind.

I work from home and from libraries/cafes (occasionally) as an editor, and I enjoy connecting with empathetic people who have progressive politics.

My ideal roommate is a nonsmoker who values respecting others' privacy and doesn't have people coming over/ staying over often. I seek to find a living situation where my roommate and I care about each other's well-being. I'm seeking a like-minded, thoughtful roommate who prioritizes good hygiene as well as creating and maintaining a peaceful, clean, uncluttered space that is a refuge to decompress. I would like to keep the common areas clean, where we wipe up any spills, etc... right away, but I am okay with an occasional dirty dish that doesn't sit there for days.

In my effort to not catch or spread COVID [or a cold/flu], I'm vaccinated and wear a mask when indoors (in public spaces), on the train, and in other crowded spaces. I can share a space only with housemates who are considerate about masking.

I'm seeking a truly affordable long-term space to call home in Queens or Westchester that is near a train line [convenient to traveling to Manhattan, etc...]. I'm willing to consider other areas that are walkable.

I'm seeking neighbors who aren't excessively noisy (e.g., blasting music and stomping overhead into the wee hours). *Occasional parties are fine, though!*

I need to be in a building/apartment that has laundry facilities and reliable Wi-Fi. There should also be no recurring history of pests, rodents, mold, leaks, etc... in the apartment or building.

I would like to live close to a supermarket/grocery store. On the nice-to-have list: A library/bookstore that is relatively close.

My maximum monthly budget 900
