Hi, I'm Kyle, a security officer at Ascension Seton Hospitals. I have a room available in my apartment in Southwest Austin. My current roommate is going to move in with her boyfriend when our lease is up at the end of June, and I really like my place, so I don't want to move yet, LOL. She's actually moving out by mid-May, most likely, but she's been living with her boyfriend since last November. I could facilitate a sooner availability, but I'd just need to coordinate with her. My lease will need to be renewed by June 28th.
About me:
First and foremost, I am COVID-19 vaccinated! I'm a military veteran, and I love to cook, sing karaoke, play videogames, hike, draw, build things, forage and hang out with my friends (but I don't have a lot of people over, or often). I have a big, cuddly German shepherd mix that loves to beg for whatever I'm cooking, and will show you all of his toys when you meet. I'm also a night shift vampire, so it's very likely that our interactions will be limited, unless you're on the night shift too. I'm usually very easy to get along with, and fairly reasonable, lol.
Potential deal-breakers for you:
I am a gun owner, and one of my hobbies is building firearms. I have a workbench in the living room by my computer/office space, but I can readily move it to my own room. I'm not a crazy political guy either, my friends say I'm a Pro-2A lefty. I'm also a little messy, but I do my best to keep somewhat tidy around the place. Lastly, I can't have any other dogs around my boy Gunner. He was a bait dog in pitbull fights, and is very afraid of other animals. And people on bikes. And bugs. And balloons. He's a mess.
About the apartment:
The apartment is at Callista Hill Country Apartments in South West Austin. It's about 25 minutes from downtown, 45 minutes from the airport, and about 90 minutes from San Antonio. It's in the Hill Country, so there's lots of trees and wildlife, but not a lot in the way of public transport. It's a 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment, around 1100 sqft on the third floor. I'm looking for a roommate that can pass the apartment's background check and is willing to sign a 13 month lease. The application fee for the complex is $75.00, but I will discount that off of your first month's rent. What I am asking for is $800.00 a month, including utilities. I don't have cable TV, but you'll have high-speed cable internet and I have a Plex server, so if you want to watch a show or a movie I can usually get it. The complex has a pretty okay gym and yoga studio, and a really nice pool and clubhouse. Parking is at a premium however, with limited open spaces, and only a few visitor spaces. You can get a covered parking space for $35 bucks a month, or a garage, for somewhere around $100 a month. I have a covered space that you can use if I'm at work, as well.
