Moving to the Live Music Capitol of the World to start a band and pursue that with fever… & perhaps get into UX Design along the way.
My main passion is music. I write and record groove-based rock and roll and am looking to form a band around it. I DJ all sorts of stuff that sounds like Daft Punk, NuDisco, Old Disco etc. Basically, genres and songs that people who play in bands would dance and vibe to. Both of those things combined also keep my audio engineering skills fairly sharp. I make most of my money DJing weddings. I also work as a freelance designer: Graphics, Squarespace Sites, Furniture, Carpentry & Home Decor. When inspired, I make art for art's sake. Oftentimes with laser cutters, CNC routers and screen-prints. I own a 32”x32” CNC router so having a space to set it up would be clutch!
My design life has unexpectedly turned me into a budding interior designer. I keep a neat home. Making my way back to more home cooking and am always looking to expand my recipes and skills in the kitchen. I have a record player, a nice stereo & projector that I often set up in the living room as a home theater if it makes sense in the space. Sometimes I take the projector to gigs to project live visuals across the stage and onto the performers.
I have a cat that is the sweetest living thing on earth. She literally wouldn’t/can’t harm a fly. It’s ridiculous. It’s like she doesn’t know how to. That being said, she is my Familiar and is an unquestionably capable spirit guardian. She’s afraid of other pets at first but eventually warms up to them.
In my downtime I’m usually going for bike rides, meditating, jogging and constantly tinkering with different creative mediums. I stay pretty busy. Happy socializing and cooking communally as well as just doing my own thing. I actively look for positive ways I can contribute to the culture of my living situation, for all. Have mostly lived with homies in somewhat communal settings. I prefer this vibe when it’s possible. If we’re gonna live together, may as well enjoy each other's company! I have a drum kit, full PA system and a bunch of carpentry tools. None of these need to be set up in the home, but it would be ideal if they could be.
I’m not a fan of committing to a place before I see it so I may be getting an AirBnb at first or looking to sublet, temporarily until I can find something permanent. Could I be a good fit for your empty room?
Much love,
Brett
