About Me

I am a Freight forwarder (aka a paper pusher) and I bartend. I work from 8:30 - who knows when at the regular job. Barely home. I enjoy cooking and eating (just a fat boy stuck in a skinny person's body). Usually out at my friends house working on our cars or bikes (the ones with engines) or making some food concoctions or traveling to another state or country. If I happen to be home, we can have a beer and chat, maybe watch movie. At your discretion. Very down to earth and speaks my mind. I am very straight forward, so if you do not like people telling you things you do not want to hear, I'm most definitely not the roommate for you. I believe it's better to speak to the person rather than storing it in until you explode.

About The other Roommate:
they are a couple. one works as an electrician and the other is in the education industry. Friendly and respectful. Works from 7 am until 3 - 5pm.

Move in Date Dec 2019
Lease Duration Month To Month
Age 36

We think Alan’s room is fantastic! But in case you want to see more…

Available Room for Rent

1 BR in a 3BR for rent in Bayside

Reason for looking:
Current roommate's friend is having issues and she is moving in with her to help her out.

What I am looking for:
Must be timely with bills (rent is due the last day of every month), semi clean (do not need to be obsessive as long as there's no uninvited guests (bugs, rodents, etc.)), responsible, down to earth and DRAMA FREE. NO CRAZIES. NO DRUGS. Smoking is not allowed inside the apt, but you can smoke on the Balcony (cigarettes, not the other stuff). Someone around the age between 25-40 preferably, but not necessary. Pets are welcome (dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets etc.). Someone that we can get along with. (Who wants to live with someone they don't get along with? We do not have to be best of friends.)

The Accommodations: (room is unfurnished, but i can provide some furniture, if needed)

For $650, shared bathroom with the other roommate. 10' x 9' approx. Closet. can fit a full size bed, dresser and a few other items.

Everything else is shared (kitchen, living room, dining room). Water included. Internet and electric split 4 ways (usually around $60 - $100 per person. This is a 3rd fl walk up apt. There is a balcony with a pretty nice view. We do not have cable tv, so if you want this, you're on your own (but we already have the wiring for it). There's a lot of street parking around.

The Neighborhood:
Right off the Cross Island Parkway on Northern Blvd Westbound. 10 minute walk to Bell Blvd, where there is good food, bars with deals almost everyday of the week (walking distance, so no worries about driving), pool hall, banks and convenience stores all walking distance. approx 10-15 min walk to LIRR (25 mins to 34th Street Penn Station). The Q12 to main street for 7 train and Express bus QM3 to Manhattan at the corner of street. There are a few other buses a little bit further. QCC is walking distance. There's a Nature Hike trail and also nice scenic route for joggers/bikers along the highway and bay.

Simple Stuff:

If you read this far, you have to be somewhat interested. If so, please message me from this site and tell me a brief auto-bio about yourself (interest, work hours, sleep habits, recreation habits, etc.).

If there is something that i left out or if you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

A little about me:
I have been in this apartment for almost 5 years. I work as a Freight forwarder (aka a paper pusher) and I bartend. I work from 8:00 - 5:00 at the office and usually bartend right after until 2am on weekdays. sometimes until 4 am on weekends. Barely home. I enjoy cooking and eating (just a fat boy stuck in a skinny person's body). Usually out at my friends house working on our cars or bikes (the ones with engines) or making some food concoctions or traveling to another state/country when i do have some spare time. If I happen to be home, we can have a beer/wine/alcoholic beverage/non alcoholic beverages and chat, maybe watch movie. At your discretion. down to earth and speaks my mind. I am very straight forward, so if you do not like people being honest with you and tell you things you do not want to hear, I'm most definitely not the roommate for you. I believe it's better to speak to the person rather than storing it in until you explode.

The Other Roommates:
A couple, one is an electrician and the other is a teacher. They are very respectful. They're hours vary, but leave pretty early in the morning and returning around 3 - 5 pm.

If all goes well,
For the room ($650/m) and deposit of ($725) $1375 total.

If you actually took the time to read all this, I thank you and Good Luck with your search.
