Hi! I’m a 31-year-old woman looking for a roommate to move into my two-bedroom/two-bathroom apartment. Move-in date is flexible between now and 8/1.
I’m a physician assistant who works two jobs, 4 days a week at a normal 8-5 and occasional 12-hour shifts, and I’ve lived in Boston for the past 10 years. I’ve been in the Brighton/Watertown area that entire time, and have been in this apartment for a year now. Unfortunately my roommate has to move for family reasons, but I absolutely love this space and am hoping to stay here as long as possible!
During normal non-coronavirus times, I love to travel, cook, and go out to bars and restaurants. I tend to be a mix of social and low-key during the week. I’m not the type to bring a party home - a planned party or two a year and an occasional weekend dinner party is more my style. On normal weeknights I’m meeting up with friends or working out, cooking dinner, and watching some Netflix. I definitely enjoy having a roommate who I can hang out with at home and drink some wine or go out with occasionally as well.
I am very neat in the common areas and it is important for me to live with someone who also values living in a clean home and is respectful. To me that means not usually leaving dishes in the sink, unloading the dishwasher once it’s clean, taking out the trash, cleaning up the kitchen after cooking that night, etc. I think communication is incredibly important and that most roomie issues can be solved with a quick conversation – not a big fan of the passive aggressive sticky note strategy lol. I’m ideally looking for someone in their mid-twenties to early/mid 30s. Non-smokers only. I’m comfortable with a male or female roommate. I’m straight but am LBGTQ+ friendly.
Move in Date | Jul 2020 |
Lease Duration | 1 Year |
Age | 31 |
Occupation | Physician Assistant |
Education | Tufts University School Of Medicine |
We think Alice’s room is fantastic! But in case you want to see more…

The apartment is a 2-bedroom 2-bathroom in Watertown. The rooms are set-up both as “master” suites on opposite sides of the common living space. Both bedrooms have attached private baths, walk-in closets, and ceiling fans. The main living area is large, open, with huge windows letting in lots of natural light, 10ft ceilings, and laminate wood floors. It is on the top (4th) floor so there are no upstairs neighbor noises, and the windows look into a quiet grassy courtyard. The kitchen is new with granite countertops and stainless appliances. There is in-unit laundry and AC. The common area is already fully furnished but certainly can talk about updating decorations to make it feel like ours, not just mine. The bed/bath is unfurnished. Pets are allowed in the building for an extra fee each month (I believe it’s $75 for dogs). I love animals and would be open to living with a very well behaved pet. I do not currently have any pets myself.
Utilities run about $140-170/month total each:
Electric: $30/month each (goes up to $50 for a month or two in summer with the AC going)
Gas: $10-15/month each (yes, even in the winter – it’s an energy efficient building and since we’re on the 4th floor we hardly ever have to turn it on even when it’s freezing out!)
Water: $15-20/month
Cable/Internet: $75/month
Renters Insurance: $9/month – this is required by the building
About the building and area:
This is a recently built luxury building that is home to a mix of young professionals and families.
Amenities include:
- Gym
- Pool
- Clubroom
- Theater
- Business center
- Mailroom/package center
- Courtyard with fire pit, bocce, common gas/charcoal grills
- Garage parking available for $100/month
- Storage units available starting at $50/month.
The location is amazing – walking distance to Watertown Square, Target, and the new Arsenal Yards project which is under construction with restaurants, a movie theater, and bars already open, and a grocery store and more shopping to come. The 70 bus to Cambridge stops immediately across the street from the building and is very reliable (I take it to work every day) and the walk is only about 10 minutes to Watertown Yard where the express 502 & 504 to downtown and 57 & 62 local buses stop. There are tons of bike paths and walking trails along the Charles that are essentially right outside the door.
Rent: | $1,650 |
Address: | *actually Watertown but there was no option for it |
Type: | Luxury |
Bedrooms: | 2 |
Baths: | 2 |
Pets: | Pet Friendly |
