About Me

I'm 38, have a little cat who is very sweet but a bit shy, and have lived in NYC for 10 years. Laid off in June from my last job so I took a long road trip in the Southwest and saw some family on the west coast. Now I'm coming back to the city.

I have a great group of friends who I go out with, but don't bring the party back home.

Around the house I enjoy cooking, reading, watching movies/shows especially sci fi, doing little crafty projects, writing, and playing board games. Bit of a nerd, and it'd be fun if we shared nerdy interests, but totally not necessary.

420 friendly, but mostly use smokeless products (edibles,) so won't be smoking in the house. Don't smoke cigarettes, but do use a nicotine vape. Don't have to do it in common spaces, and will probably quit again here soon. Kind of a revolving door. Sometimes use harder drugs (mushrooms or lsd mostly, don't go for the molly or Colombian booger sugar, but fine if you do.)

Single now, but if I have a partner we split nights between the apts so there isn't an "additional roommate" situation.

I've gotten a bit away from the party game the last few years, so my weekends and evenings are spent more going to shows, out to eat, to jazz bars, or art/cultural events. Still go to the occasional rave/party, but it's more infrequent these days.

Looking to have a friendly relationship with my roomie(s) but we don't have to be besties. I like cooking for people, so maybe a shared meal now and then or movie/game night.

I like respectful, direct communication. I try to be in tune with the people around me, but I'm not psychic, so if you need me to do something/stop doing something, just ask. I try to be empathetic and supportive of everyone's needs. Hopefully that's a two way street.

I like to keep my place tidy, and will do cleaning/chores, especially in the kitchen/bathroom. Not a neat freak by any means, but it'd be nice to all be in alignment on keeping the place not-filthy.

Overall I'm pretty laid back and social, so unless you tell me not to I'll probably ask you how your day was when you come home. Perfectly happy to let people have alone time, and I need that too. General rule is if someone's hanging out in the common space I'll say hi/see if they want to do something. In their room? Leave alone.

Let me know if you have questions, and happy to answer!
