I’m a history teacher and have lived in NYC (at this same spot in Brooklyn) for six years. My favorite things to do are reading, skiing, collecting vintage clothes, and taking road trips. I mostly keep to my space when at home but am always down for wine/movie nights with roommates- and I never leave dishes in the sink :).

We think Marisa’s room is fantastic! But in case you want to see more…

I'm looking for roommates to join a 1-year lease in a large duplex apartment on the Bed-Stuy/Bushwick border. I've lived here for six years, and can attest that the neighborhood is vibrant, friendly, and charming. The apartment was recently renovated, with exposed brick and new amenities, and is conveniently located within a 5-minute walk to the J-train and a 10-minute walk to the C train (the L train can also be reached relatively quickly by bus). The building is within walking distance of a Rite Aid, a grocery store, and a variety of restaurants; there is also a well-maintained park about a block away where people walk their dogs, picnic, etc.
The apartment includes a dishwasher, 2.5 bathrooms, A/C, laundry in the building (!!!), and an incredible roof view; there are high ceilings and there's also a ton of cabinet space in the kitchen. Most of the other tenants in the building are professionals in their 20's and 30's. There's plenty of space for decorating (especially in the common area), and nooks in the wall that are great for plants/books/pictures, so feel free to add whatever you want to the space.
We’re accepting move-ins from July 10th on; the management company requires prospective tenants make 40x the rent and have a 600+ credit score, or have a guarantor who makes 80x the rent.
Looking forward to hearing from you! Feel free to include any questions you may have and I'll answer them as soon as I can.
