I’m Cris (he/him). I’m a 34 year old cis, gay Latino man. I was raised in Miami and have lived in NYC for 8 years. I deeply value empathy, communication, kindness, and inclusion. I’m funny sometimes. A terrible singer usually. A good listener always. I work on myself psychologically, emotionally, physically, skillfully, and intellectually.
I work from home most days of the week. That means I’m at my computer most of the day running meetings. On Tuesdays and Thursday, I'm more likely to go to the office, meaning I shower around 7am. I cook only occasionally. I’m usually done with work by 6 or 7 and I wind down with some TV, a book, a walk, music, a workout, or 420. I’m clean and neat, but not excessive about it. I run the dishwasher every night so no dishes overnight. I keep the bathroom clean and vacuum weekly.
I have a particular routine I follow most days, but I'm very flexible about the use of the apartment. I don't drink alcohol (but you can, it doesn't bother me). I might have a guest over a couple of times a week. I don't party into the night (usually asleep by 11:30pm), except for the occasional party (my birthday, Pride, Halloween, etc; once every 2 months at most). Those times I might be out until 5am on a Saturday. But I'm always respectful of your space and time.
I love feeding people and getting sharing my favorite things with people. I'm personable, friendly, and charming, but also need my own space and alone time sometimes. That has nothing to do with you, it's just how I recharge.

Duplex with backyard in Clinton Hill/Bedstuy
About the room:
The room measures 15 by 12 feet plus a closet and a private balcony overlooking the backyard. There’s plenty of space to put a queen size bed, dresser, and table. The room faces south and gets lots of light throughout the day due to the sliding door and huge window. If you want to put your home office in the living room, that’s available, too.
About the apartment:
The apartment is an incredible duplex on the first floor and garden level on Clifton between Franklin and Classon in Clinton Hill. It has a large backyard, balcony, high ceilings, in-unit washer and dryer, lots of closets for storage, a dishwasher, and central heat and cooling. The apartment has a full bathroom on the first floor and a half bathroom on the garden level.
The first floor has a large living room with plenty of sun, a fully stocked kitchen with modern appliances and huge range, a full bathroom, coat closet with top storage, laundry room, and master bedroom with a private balcony. The garden level floor has storage under the stairs, a walk in storage closet, a half bathroom, a bedroom with access to the backyard, a large office, and extra storage closet space.
The backyard comes with a table, some chairs, a BBQ pit, and some astroturf. There’s so much space to do an elevated box gardening or more. I would really love a roommate with a vision for gardening or something nice to do with the backyard.
I have pretty much everything for the kitchen (plates, utensils, cookware, etc). The living room has a dining table with 6 seats and a coffee table. We would need a new couch and TV. And plants.
Utilities not included. We would split those 50/50.
About the neighborhood:
The apartment is in Clinton Hill on the border of Bedstuy. It’s one block from the Classon G train and a 12 minute walk to the Franklin C train. It’s surrounded by great cafes, restaurants, bars, and things to do within a short walking distance. Herbert Von King is a 13 minute walk, and less than 20 minutes from Fort Greene Park.
About you:
Prefer a queer roommate in their 30s who has a good communication style, has hopefully worked on themselves in therapy, and is generally considerate and kind. The queer part is negotiable (my last roommate is straight and he and I became best friends), but everything else is pretty important. I get along well with humble people who are trying their best.
The management company will likely require proof of income, first month rent, deposit, all that stuff. The landlord is amazing. Great guy and lives in Singapore. Never had an issue getting something fixed. I try to take care of the place and make upgrades.
Not necessary, but the apartment is set up with Google assistant for the lights and stuff. Would be neat if you also liked Google products, but of course not required.
