LOCATION
Astoria (or anywhere in Queens), Queens

ABOUT THIS LISTING
My ideal room would be large and well-lit, so I could do artwork in my room. >$1000 is my price range, and honestly the lower the better because of Covid. I would like it to be longterm though so I'm not just seeking the cheapest place I can find. Furnished or unfurnished is fine, and the larger the room is the better, although I've made work out of my tiny dorm room in Manhattan for years now. Washer and dryer and a backyard space would be my dream. As a roommate I am quiet, respectful and keep the common areas very tidy. My room can get cluttered because I have so many art materials but I guarantee I'd keep the common areas very clean. Roommates on the quieter side would be nice, just because I am in my 30s and work a lot, having lots of house parties would be rough for me. I'm not anti-social at all, and tend to become friends with my roommates, but am happy to just be friendly too! The most important things to me are: Queens, affordability and roommates who are quieter, at least in a home setting. I'm out most of the time anyway as I work all over town, I just think I need a quiet living space to unwind after work.
My main things are baking, doing creative stuff, being outdoors and going to museums and cultural places. A neighborhood close to a large, affordable grocery store and metro options would be nice.
My cat is an calico exotic cat. She's very friendly and quiet, and loves people. She's 10 and has lived in a tiny dorm room with me these last couple years and has been happy, so she would be happy just staying in my room, not going to common areas.
I graduated with my MFA a few months ago and am looking for my first apartment in the city, as I've only lived in dorms here. I'm a painter and textile artist, and for work I am a nanny, I walk dogs, and work in art education.
I like a clean bathroom and common area, but I understand that getting busy and behind in cleaning happens sometimes, and my room can be a little messy. I just think it's respectful to keep common areas clean for everyone, and would be into hiring cleaners as a group, or organizing weekly cleaning tasks as roommates.
I love art and museums of all kinds, baking, travel and animals. I'm introverted and friendly, and really just want roommates who are respectful and nice people.
