Furnished bedroom in Sunnyside, March to December, $1,400/month + utilities

We are subletting one bedroom in our two-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment in Queens. It is a third-floor walk up in a row house located in beautiful Sunnyside, a short walk from the 7 train, as well as multiple parks, grocery stores, and the shops and nightlife on Skillman Avenue. We love this green and friendly neighborhood, and we hope you will, too!

Dates: We are subletting the room from March to December 2025 (exact dates negotiable/TBD). We will be giving priority consideration to applicants who would like to stay the whole time from March to December, but we will also consider shorter stays within that window. 

Rent, Utilities, Deposit: The rent is $1,400/month, to be paid to us. Internet (Fios 300Mbps) is $25/month, and gas and electricity are $50-$100/month, depending on the month. Heat and hot water are included. We will be asking for one month's rent as a security deposit to be returned to you at the end of the sublet.

Room: The room is about 8 feet by 14.5 feet. It will be furnished with a full-size bed with a nearly new memory foam mattress and metal bed frame; a window AC unit; and a desk and chair. There is also a large closet with a mirror mounted on the door. The wooden floorboards creak, so we will be putting rugs down to dampen the noise.

Building: The building has a small communal backyard, a free washer and dryer in the basement, and weekly compost pickup.

Roommate: For most of the sublet term, you will be sharing the apartment with Patrick, who will be living in the other bedroom. For two six-week periods, one in the spring and one in the fall, Patrick will be traveling, and you will have the whole apartment to yourself. Patrick works from home and his desk is in the shared living room. He occasionally has Zoom meetings but does not require total silence in the apartment throughout the day. Patrick is a laid-back nonprofit worker who loves music (ask about our stereo system and music collection!).

Application Process: Please note that potential subletters must submit an application to the landlord's agent for approval. You should be prepared to provide identification, proof of income, and bank statements, and you may also need to pass a credit check. More details coming soon!
