Heyo! My name's Nick and I'm looking for someone to fill a vacancy in a 2 bed, 1 bath that I rent in Historic Filipinotown, near Echo Park and Silver Lake.
Some info about me:
I'm a big old nerd who likes board games, videogames, and dungeons & dragons more than I probably should. Professionally, I daylight as an account representative at an insurance brokerage, working remote full-time. By night, I'm an aspiring voice actor and writer who loves doing improv comedy (again, more than I probably should). I'm also a big cook, baker, and mixer of drinks, and enjoy hosting friends for dinner and hangouts - although not so frequently as to be overwhelming (hopefully). Other hobbies include music (guitar & piano), gardening, and rock-climbing (although I'm not all that great at it). As a housemate, I'm clean and organized, and find myself most at peace when the house is tidy, in order, and inviting. Admittedly, I can be a little manic about it sometimes but never in a confrontational way. Mostly in a "I'm gonna spend all my free time cleaning" kinda way.
What I'm looking for in a housemate:
I've lived here alone for a little while, and while I like it in some ways, the main reason I'm seeking a housemate is because I enjoy living with people! While I've often described myself as a recluse, I think at the end of the day I'm an extrovert and tend to be happiest around others. So when it comes to housemates, I'm looking for someone who's down to be social and hang out. Ideally, we'd share a hobby or two. For this to be a good fit, I think my housemate would need to be open to having folks over at the house from time to time. And I'm of course happy to have my housemate's friends over as well! As long as the home is somewhat quiet from the hours of 9-5 (my work hours), then I'm happy to have folks come through whenever (within reason, of course). When it comes to cleanliness and housekeeping, I'd like for my housemate to be someone that enjoys a clean and tidy house, but I don't need them to be as manic about it as me. My only pet peeve is clutter, so as long as things are put where they belong and aren't left all over the place - we'll be fine.
If you feel like this above description applies to you, then reach out! Lets chat! And to clarify, I'm not looking for someone who checks every box in every way. If in doubt, reach out and we can talk!

I know I know, this is technically Filipinotown and not Echo Park. The app wouldn't let me put Filipinotown and Echo Park is the closest option. And really is very close, I walk to the lake all the time!
Some info about the place:
Its a groovy little spot in a very old ranch-style house (built in 1889!) that has been divided into three units. The one I occupy is one of the two downstairs units, with the third being an upstairs unit. It comes with two parking spots out back, and the house is located on a hill above and removed from the street, so there's a nice degree of seclusion, which I enjoy. The unit itself has been renovated and modernized, so it doesn't show its age too much. It has a nice full kitchen, gets great natural light, and is located within walking distance of great restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. The landlord pays for water, while all other utilities (including internet) would run each person about $100 a month, depending on how much the AC/Heater is ran.
The Drawbacks:
The unit does not have central AC, but does have a wall mounted unit in the living room that does pretty good work. If you're an AC junky however, it probably won't meet your standards.
The unit also does not have a washer or dryer, but there is a 24-hour coin laundry right around the corner. You can walk there in 3-6 minutes, and while its not state-of-the-art, I've never had any issues with the machines there.
The unit only has one bathroom. Its a perfectly fine bathroom, but there is only one. So, if having your own bathroom is important to you, then this likely isn't a great fit.
I've included some photos with this post of the room and the walk-in closet. The total square footage of the bedroom + closet is around 185 square feet. If we match and you're interested, I'm more than happy to do a video tour our an in-person one to provide you better details and visuals!
While the pictures include furniture and the like, that would not be there by the time you move in.
