Hi. I am a native San Franciscan who lived in NYC for over 20 years until 2015. I relocated to S.F., CA, to help care for my mother, who had dementia, and decided after life circumstances changed in S.F. to give NYC a trial run last September to see if I wanted to relocate. I currently live in a coliving apartment after extending my lease a couple of times to eventually an entire year. I have decided to live in NYC long-term and am looking for a more permanent living situation.
I also lived and studied for three years in Europe and went to graduate school in Washington. D.C.
I am a corporate communications executive and writer. My website, www.markegoebel.com, will give you a sense of what I’ve done during my career, as will my LinkedIn profile, Mark Goebel, New York, NY.
I have traveled widely and enjoy experiencing other cultures. I studied international relations in graduate school at Johns Hopkins. I love reading about and discussing current affairs, history, economics, finance, philosophy, and various topics. I am a good conversationalist.
I get along with most people and am willing to compromise and understand another person’s perspective. I am neat but not compulsively so. When at home, I enjoy the quiet. I am very respectful of other people’s privacy.
I love reading, hiking, biking, and attending cultural events like theater, classical music, opera, and dance. I am a big sports fan, particularly San Francisco teams, and enjoy participatory sports like biking, skiing, and going to the gym.
I am easy to get along with, very easy-going, but responsible. I am financially secure and have a promising career going.
I consider myself fun to be with and engaging. I lived alone for the first 20 years in NYC, but have lived with the same person in NYC and S.F. the first six as romantic partners, the last five as friends and roommates.
I try to remember how my actions and what I say affect others. I guess that makes me thoughtful.
My maximum monthly budget | 1,700 |
Move in Date | Oct 2023 |
Lease Duration | 1 Year |
Age | 56 |
Occupation | Writer/Journalist |
Pets | No Pets |
Hometown | San Francisco, Ca, Usa |
Education | Master's Degree |
Relationship Status | Single |
We think Mark would be a great roommate! But in case you want to see more…
