This apartment is a real gem considering the location and price. Updated appliances and finishes! The building is a 5th floor walk up with our unit being on the top floor, so must be able to climb four flights of stairs daily. The building is literally STEPS away from Central Park and the 103rd st subway station where you have access to the C & B trains. There is a cat in the apartment so if you are allergic, this may not be a good fit.
The room that is available in is centered in the middle of the apartment so there is hardly any street noise beyond the occasional ambulance siren. This room fits a full or a twin. I am not sure a queen would fit. I currently have an in-window AC unit that I am looking to sell for $150.
Regarding utilities: this unit comes with hot water and heat included in the rent. Internet and electric come out to $100 a month and is split three ways. This may become more expensive during the summer, however, since it will be hotter and the AC is used more often.
Note that I am moving out of this apartment and helping my two roommates find someone to replace me! My roommates are looking for someone who is clean and very considerate of personal space. We are all friends, but we also really like our alone time, especially after a long day at work.
As you would be taking over my part of the lease, the management company is requiring you to make at least 40x the rent of the room (there may be some leeway), have a good to excellent credit score, as well as pass a background check. Our management company is very helpful and responsive and we have never had a problem with them.
Lastly, we will need a $1375 security deposit along with first month’s rent on the day that you sign the lease.
