I am looking for a roommate to rent the largest bedroom in our cozy and sun-filled 3 bed / 2 bath penthouse-style apartment in Clinton Hill! It’s on the 5th floor of an independent building, with only one apartment per floor and a private elevator that opens directly into the unit. It’s private, quiet, and filled with natural light. There’s a balcony with an amazing view, in-unit laundry, and large windows throughout. The building has passwords gate and package area, it's easy to receive the online packages.
🟢 Room Details:
• Private bathroom (right outside the room, with a bathtub!)
• Independent AC and heater – you control your own temp
• Big built-in wardrobe and lots of sunlight
• Rent: $1,815/month (utilities not included)
• 1-year lease starts August 2025
• All genders welcome
🟢 Utilities:
• The building is gas-free – everything runs on electricity, including the boiler and stove
About $70–$80/month per person in summer, and $100–$120/month in winter
If we’re mindful (turning off lights and equipment), we can definitely lower costs!
• The boiler runs on a timer, not 24/7, but we can adjust the schedule to fit everyone’s needs
🟢 Neighborhood:
• We’re in a quiet, peaceful area surrounded by schools and a church—nothing too hectic or noisy.
• Plenty of stores nearby, including Key Food, C-Town, UPS, restaurants.
• 7-minute walk to the G line (Classon Ave station), and B38 bus.
• Close to B54, B48, just downstairs.
🟢 What I am looking for:
• Someone clean, tidy, and respectful of shared spaces and sleep schedules
• Ideally someone who doesn’t cook too often – our fridge isn’t very big, so it’s not ideal for heavy cooking
• We rotate basic chores weekly (taking out trash, vacuuming, etc.)—it’s quick and keeps everything nice for everyone!
• No pet allowed, sorry
🟢 Guest & House Rules:
• Friends and my partner do visit sometimes—usually 1–2 times a month
• Guests are totally welcome as long as they’re respectful of the apartment vibe and don’t disturb anyone’s sleep
• Overnight guests are okay occasionally, but should not stay longer than one week at a time
• No smoking inside the apartment, please 🚭
• No vacuuming & hair dryer in public space and laundry use between 12am–6am to respect everyone’s rest
🟢 A little extra:
• I live with my pet parrot, who’s very sweet and quiet. She mostly hangs out in my room and has been with me for 5 years 🐦
• My current roommates will have something to sell, including the furnitures. Will updated when they give me the selling list!
• You might live with other genders roommate.
• Once you decide to move forward, I kindly ask for a holding deposit of $1,815 (equal to one month’s rent). This will reserve the room until the lease is signed. The full amount will be returned once the lease is officially signed with the landlord.
• I’ll definitely be negotiating with the landlord to keep the rent the same this year. In the worst-case scenario, if he does increase it, it would probably be a small bump—around $40–$50 more per person.
