My name is Niki and I’m looking for 1-2 roommates for a Nov/Dec move-in date.
I am interested in keeping the budget $800-1000, with maybe a little wiggle room. I want to keep to looking in Brooklyn, esp Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, Park Slope, Bushwick, Bedstuy.
I am 22 almost 23 (Birthdate: Nov 18; Scorpio) and just graduated from NYU remotely. I majored in Anthropology and Art History, and minored in Native American and Indigenous Studies. I wrote my senior thesis about Federal Indian policy and the Federal Acknowledgment Process for Native tribes (specifically those in New York City vying for recognition within cultural institutions and government settings) and can talk you ear off if you’re interested. Super excited to hear you talk mine off about literally whatever.
I did the last three semesters from home (woof) in Atlanta, and have been serving at a local restaurant saving money for my next move. [Meanwhile my old apartment stuff has been waiting in Brooklyn storage for me ):]
I currently have a remote part-time job, working for one of my professors on website management and general logistical support. I have also been applying to jobs, but figured I might as well just pull the trigger and move to New York, and keep working at a (different) restaurant part-time.
I like funk/soul music, I made a lot of art in high school, I like hanging other peoples’ art on my walls, I like thrifting, I like going on walks, I like museums, I like the color green, I like going to dive bars, I like drinking mezcal, and I like burning incense.
I am vaccinated — I come from a med family — and am looking for the same. Speaking of family, I come from a big Italianish-Icelandic family — think “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” but with Icelanders.
My hours now in terms of being a roommate might be wonky — especially with dinner shifts at restaurants, but otherwise I often keep to myself at home. I'm not a crazy partier, but that doesn't mean I haven't had my fair share of 4am bodega runs ...
I like keeping common spaces neat, but that does not mean I don’t like knick-knacks. I love knick-knacks, and all things old/homey. I have some furniture handed down from my grandma that I would love to fit in our Brooklyn abode. I also really like Persian rugs and velvet chairs.
My instagram is @niki.hunt. Message me there or here if you'd think we would be a good match!
