The apartment was gut-renovated a few years ago. The apartment has 3 bedrooms and a bonus room, which will use as a shared office and additional storage. There is one bathroom.
The apartment was renovated a few years ago. The apartment has 3 bedrooms and an office. There is one bathroom.
Renting bedroom and office. You get two rooms for this price. Normally $1800K/month. If you just want the bedroom and not the additional space in the office, the price is $1000.
Move-In Date: November 1 or later. $250 deposit.
Rent plus utilities (enhanced wifi, a Spectrum cable package, and gas). The utilities average about $75/month and AC in room. Each room has a closet. 4th-floor walk-up. Right at the 1 train. About 3 blocks from the A train. We split the utilities.
Just a few blocks from Target, Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, Planet Fitness, Blink, UPS Store, USPS, Urgent Care; Other Restaurants: Dominican, Thai, Italian, Irish, Mexican, and more; Retail: GAP Outlet, Marshalls, Staples, about 35-40 minutes to mid-town. We are just a few blocks from Yeshiva University. We're just a few subway stops from Columbia's medical and dental schools. We're about 30 minutes from Fordham's Lincoln Center campus.
The room is furnish it if needed (bed--queen size, nightstand, dresser).
There is no washer/dryer in the building but there are two places to drop-off laundry or do your own.
One roommate is a professor (and will be away on a work project on location and will be gone for weeks at a time) and the other roommate works at a local hospital. We are both away most of the day Mon-Fri.
Everyone in the apartment is pretty religious so if you're looking for a place to have overnight romantic quests do not reply.
I'm totally open for graduate students who need a place for until the end of 2023. The preference is for working professionals.
Also open to remote workers and simply need a place during the work weeks.
Here's the ideal roommate for this apartment:
(1) Someone who is very and actually clean. I'm willing to give a significant rent reduction if you're willing to help with the cleaning. We clean the bathroom sink and toilet almost daily. If you're OCD about cleaning, you are more than welcome. If seeing hair on the floor or in the sink grosses you out, you are more than welcome! We do not wear shoes in the apartment.
(2) Someone who needs to go to bed early. We got to bed pretty early and get up pretty early. If you need the early to bed/early to rise sleep schedule, this is ideal.
(3) Someone who is new to New York and is looking for a place to set up. Or someone transitioning stages of life and needs a place to transition. Stays for 6 months to a year or more are welcome.
(4) If you're an introvert, that's fine. We'll leave you alone. If you're not home much, we don't care. If you're an extrovert that's also fine.
(5) All religions are welcome but it’s generally a Christian environment. Again, everyone in the apartment is pretty religious so if you're looking for a place to have overnight romantic quests, do not reply.
(6) A more quiet place: we typically do not have people over so if you're looking for a more quiet place to escape from life in the city, this is your place.
(7) Kitchen: If you don't fry food and don't like the fried food smells in an apartment, you are more than welcome. We do not fry food in this apartment. If you don't like it when roommates cook food with strong smells that stink up the apartment, you are more than welcome! If you eat out a lot or have food delivered, you are more than welcome.
If you hate it when people leave dishes in the sink and do not clean behind themselves when they make a mess, you are more than welcome to come. This is your place!
If you're the kind of person who leaves dishes in the sink and won't immediately clean up after yourself when using the kitchen, do not reply to this ad.
(8) If you don't need or plan on moving many items into the apartment other than your room and food, you are more than welcome.
(9) We basically have a minimalist vibe going in the common areas and avoid clutter in common areas at all cost.
(10) If you're open to discussing and analyzing politics/current events and ok with people having diverse views, you are more than welcome. We embrace viewpoint diversity in the apartment.
(11) If you want a non-smoking environment, you are more than welcome.
(12) If you like living in a non-cluttered environment, you are more than welcome. If you need to work from home most days, this won't be a good place for you.
(13) We do not have overnight romantic guests. Seeking someone who values privacy and maintains a respectful atmosphere in our home.. I kindly ask for a roommate who understands and respects personal boundaries, ensuring our shared space remains a peaceful sanctuary for everyone. Like I said, we're pretty religious and have certain moral commitments regarding relationships and boundaries that we hold you're able to respect.
(14) If you need storage, for $15/month a storage unit about 10 minutes away that you're welcome to use as well.
(15) If you'd like a quieter place to chill on the evenings and weekends, you are more than welcome.
(16) The apartment is drug-free in terms of smoking and injections, but very alcohol friendly, esp. bourbon.
(17) If you clean your bed sheets regularly and often, you are welcome. Same for laundry. If you do laundry often and regularly, you are welcome.
(18) What makes this apartment work with mutual trust and respect of each other using the space.
(19) We keep common areas extremely clean. We're looking for people who don't just clean up after themselves but also are willing to clean the common areas as well.
