My roommate and I are looking for a third person to move into our 3br furnished Apt, starting Sept 1, for a 12 lease. This apartment is a great value because the landlord hasn't raised the rent in years (this is my third year here) and the price shown is a conservative average that includes everything (rent, utilities, internet, heat, etc.).
The Apartment:
Bright, big and renovated, with a huge kitchen, an open concept layout and beautiful hardwood floors throughout. It's also fully furnished aside from the available room, has a large storage room and a patio, and some fairly quirky decor (which is in flux and very negotiable). The building has forced air heating (not steam radiators) and we have A/C window units in the common area. We are also on the top floor so only one (quiet) neighbor (below) and we have a decent view. Only downsides are: there is one bathroom, and there is no onsite laundry - but we've managed to share the bathroom without too much hassle so far, and there are two laundromats within a block of us.
The Room:
The empty room is 12x14ft with a small closet, ceiling fan, and two windows.
The Location:
We get the best of both worlds being centrally located between the city and suburbs! Many restaurants, stores, CVS, gym, laundromat, etc. within short walking distance, but still plenty of parking, a park nearby, reservoir, and peace and quiet at night. Plus it's close to the freeways (5 min to i-90, 15 min to i-95), 5 min drive to Storrow, 15 min to downtown, and there is a bus stop right on our block (green-line also nearby).
The Roommates:
Both males in our late twenties (I'm from Canada, he's from Mass), and we are both working Tech/IT professionals with busy schedules - I work from home about half the time, while he is out 9am-6pm weekdays. We enjoy cooking (most things, no big dietary restrictions), music, learning about other cultures, world affairs, tech, new shows/movies, and being active (soccer, running, hiking, climbing, etc). We aren't huge partiers but enjoy a drink once in a while. We generally like being friendly, easy-going, positive and enjoy a good joke. We try to keep things clean, respect each other's space and privacy, and just talk things out if something bothers us.
You:
No restrictions on age/gender/etc, but we would like to find someone whom we have some things in common with, and ideally someone who is up for the occasional hangout - to make the apartment feel more like home. The landlord will want a background check, and preference is for a long-term roommate (minimum 1 year).
